Last night Carter was being a pistol! This has become a common occurance at our house. In my frustration I murmured, "I am going to give you away." (I know mother of the year award, right?)
Carter's response, "You CAN'T give me away!"
His defiance made it that much more tempting. "Really, why not?"
"Because I'm sealed to you forever!" he exclaimed emphatically.
I couldn't help but laugh. I pulled him close, gave him a big hug and kiss, and told him he was absolutely right!
Go ahead and try to pull a fast one on that kid.
*in our church we believe that when you are married in one of our temples you are sealed together as a family for time and all eternity.

It's All About the Oven!
Today Gage and I were enjoying a little conversation over our lunch when he pipes up and says, "Mom. I like our old house in Wisconsin better."
What? I'm thinking he must be delusional. Not only is our house TWICE the size of our Milwaukee duplex, we now have a fenced in yard again, giving the boys the freedom to play outside at will and to top it off we also lived ABOVE our neighbors in Milwaukee creating a constant need to tell my rambunctious boys to be quiet and not run/jump/skip/bounce balls/roll marbles/ basically be active in the house... the upper duplex is not a good idea when you have 2 little boys under house arrest while you're hibernating during the wicked cold winter months with a brand new baby.
Needless to say I was a bit bewildered by his random comment. So I asked, "Why?"
"Because in Milwaukee our oven had a light in it and I could see inside."
Apparently it's all about the oven. How did I not know that was what makes or breaks a home? I guess it's high time to go out and buy a replacement bulb.

Funny Kid...
Carter was listening in on a conversation Jared and I were having this morning about the recent squirrel invasion we seem to have had. Upon asking Jared what we can do to get rid of the squirrels Carter responds, "Put nuts in the neighbors yard!"
That kid cracks me up!
