I have been accused of bribing my kids with money. I prefer to call it a tip. Just this week I gave Carter and Gage a penny for each pair of socks they matched. They were each thrilled to get 15 cents. (I may also be cheap but that is only because Jared has rubbed off on me.) So today I asked Carter to throw something away for me.
Carter - "Will you give me a dime if I do?"
Me - "Umm, no! Carter we don't always get paid to do things, sometimes we just do things for other people because it is nice. Do I get paid to cook you dinner?"
Me - "Because he gets paid to take care of his patients."
Carter - "Well that's a rip off."
Me - "What is?"
Carter - "Dad gets paid to work and you don't!"
